I am already onH1B visa and my present employer is in the business of manufacturing and providing contract services.

Can I work for another company(keeping my H1 with current employer), who is ready for contract with my present employer(current employer doesn't have any problem)

If yes, what precaustions are necessary?
If no, what are the reasons?

Request to forum members to help me.

You can only be employed by the employer that holds your H1. I would suggest that you go on with this contract, but do not get paid by that other company(let's call it Client). Instead, your H1 holding employer, sign a corp to corp contract with Client. You work for the client, your employer gets the payment and then issue you a paycheck. Of-course he will keep some share from that payment. In my opinion, this is the safest and only way.

H1B visa and working on contract

Eric, Thank u for reply,
I have one more query.

Is it ok to sign a independent contract (my name) but pay cheque in the name of present employers.
My employer(present) is ready for any type of contract, even they can accept a situation where, client(new employer) issues a cheque with my name and I submit that cheque to my present employer, who inturn pay me.

does this look ok?
