H1B trouble

Hi
One of my friends is in big trouble with his employer. He has a valid H1b stamped in his passport from his employer and would like to find another employer as he feels very hostile working conditions.
1. Can he file for a H1B transfer in case he finds a new employer without the knowledge of the old employer?
2.what documentation will he require from the current, new employers (the current employer might not give him anything)?
3.My friend feels that his current employer might have informed CIS that he wants to revoke his H1B, if so does he have to inform y friend that he is doing so? what are his rights and what are my friends options.

Ginnu, anyone else who has been thru this please reply ASAP.

Thanks

---yes

-------------- present employer 3-4 recent pay stub copy+ passport pages copy+ H1 approval notice copy+copy of valid I-94 front and back + copy of education certificate, evaluation
3.My friend feels that(how do you know what your friends feels???? :D )
his current employer might have informed CIS that he wants to revoke his H1B, if so does he have to inform y friend that he is doing so? what are his rights and what are my friends options.
---------- employer has to inform your "friend" that they dont want his services and are going to revoke H1, if they sent letter to USCIS to revoke "his/her" h1 then they have to inform, one cant work with them if no H1 or EAD

Thank you very much Ginnu,

Let us assume that his employer has aleady informed CIS without informing my friend, what time period does he have until CIS contacts my friend and ask him to leave the country. I am asking this because he is looking into other opportunities and need some time to transfer his visa. he also has a B1/B2 visa does this help in anyway??

Thanks again

let your friend check online status of his H1 status. FYI if employer informed USCIS to revoke his H1 then employer cant keep him or pay him. if he is still working with the employer it means employer has not informed becasue Employer dont want to be in problems to keep him working and also informing CIS to revoke the H1. if your friend is not happy with that employer search new employer and file H1 transfer.
**** how the person can have H1 and B1/B2??? I supect that your friend came on B1/b2 to US and got B1 to H1 approved if that is true his b1/b2 is not valid status
