H1B travel issue

Hi,
I got my H1B visa stamped in october and i am planning to fly in january. I have 2 queries:

1. I am planning to travel to my brother(who is in a different state from my employer) to spend a few days with him,
2. My parents (on visitor visa) are also planning to visit my brother. Is it okay if we travel together or will there be an issue at port of entry.

Please respond as i have to get the tickets booked but i am in dilemma whether to go alone or with parents and whether to reach emplioyer's place first or can i spend some time with my brother and family(1 week or so).

i am in a similar situation like yours .. did you have any issues at the port of entry flying to a different location than the employer .. please advise .. i will be travelling very soon and i want to travel to my brother's place first ..
