h1b transfer

hello ,

I was on h1b during 2001 for only 3 months . after then I went for 1 month vacation and came back on L1b. Since then I am in US on L1.

I am moving up in a new company and they are ready to file for my h1. They say it will be a simple case of h1b transfer and I may not be asked to submit any documents. They will prepare my petition and submit it for approval. I will be asked to submit docs only if INS asks for the same.

Is this true.. am i eligible for h1 transfer ? is transfer a simple process ...
Please advice.

--- it is not H1 transfer the employer is going to file the petition for Change of status from L1 to H1, your status will change when USCIS approve the COS
