H1B transfer while I-485 pending - Please help

Hi Forum members,

I would greatly appreciate your valuable inputs in the following query.

I have my I-485 pending (I-140 - SELF PETITION, EB1EA CATEGORY, CURRENT EMPLOYER NOT INVOLVED). But, I currently hold a H1B through my present employer. I am planning to switch jobs - similar area/field of work. The new employer is working on the H1B transfer.

1. Will this H1B transfer affect my pending I-485?

2. Or will pending I-485 affect the H1B?

3. Will it be OK to do the transfer or wait till I-485 approval (God knows how long)?

Always keep your H1 status valid until your I 485 approved. Think if your I 485 is denied for some reason, what will you do? To apply your GC through some other means you must be in status to stay in USThank you for your kind help.

------------- what is your field for EB1EA? it may get approved early
