H1B Stamping while awaiting AP

I have a valid H1 B visa but it is not stamped on my passport.
I applied for my I-485 in mid August. There is a need for me to travel to India next month and I do not expect to receive my Advance Parole before I leave.

Can I apply for my H1 B stamping in India (chennai consulate) while my I-485 is pending?

---- You have H1b approval Notice (don’t call it VISA) Visa is sticker in Passport that is stamped by Consulate or DOS, don’t mix Visa stamp with H1 approval notice

----- One can be on H1B AND AOS pending at the same time. Yes you can get H1b visa stamp in Chennai. Chennai asks truckload of documents read the other threads related to Chennai. If you sent AP application with I-485 in august you may get AP in few days. IF you have any diffrence in wages on LCA and wages paid by your H1 employer are less than LCA, I will keep AP as Back up if it is Chennai US consulate in India. I have also read that many get H1, H4 stamp without problems

I have applied for a work permit to be an au pair in Denmark on Feb 17. i know that the process should be up to 2 months before the permit will be granted. so while waiting i would like to travel and visit some friends in the schengen states. is it possible to apply for a schengen tourist visa then? i would just ask for only 15 days or something. and the traveling plan would be around the beginning of march.

Your question has nothing to do with this thread, which is about applying for a US visa stamp while a US green card application is pending. Yours looks like a European visa question.
