H1B Quota for All Countries?

UK 2006

New Member
Hello,

I am a British Citizen based in the UK. I want to move to the US. I know that the H1-B cap has been reached for this year but I was wondering whether H1-B visas are approved based on citizenship? I mean if I do find a job in the US and the company agrees to process my H1-B, can it be done or would the cap limit affect the processing and would I have to wait until next year? I know that for GCs they have buckets for different countries - I was wondering if the same was the case for H1-B visas. Are there any other options that I could pursue. Any response is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Chilean and Singaporean have separate quota with H1, but other nationals is subject to one consolidated quota. At this moment, there is no chance, but if new bill HR1645 passed, you may get the extra quota this year(but it depends on luck and you shouldn't count on that much).
