Hello,
I did my Masters here in USA.
After I completed my Masters I got a job and started working there on H1B.

I got laid off, so I changed my visa to F1 from H1B.
I went to India to get F1 stamped and my H1B was canceled.

Now I want to know can I get H1B again from F1 ?
And for how many years ?

Thank you very much,
Regards,

You can change to H1B if you did not exhaust H1 6 years.
How many years are granted depends on how many years you spent on H1.
Just subtract the years you spent with previous H1 from 6 years, that is the
time left for you as H1.

I worked for an year on opt and 6 months on H1B and then I cancelled my H1B during my F1 stamping ,
so next time I apply will I get 5 years and 6 months on H1B ?

Please reply to confirm it and thank you very much for the valuable information.

Appreciate it

You are allowed to get 5.5 years with h1.
Next time you apply, they will give you 3 years (if it is specified in LCA), and then you need 2.5 years extension when that 3 years period comes expire.
