H1B Extension with near passport expiration date

Hi,
My passport is going to expire in August 07 and my 8th year H1b extension is valid until end of Jan 07. If I file for H1b extension now; can I get the H1b approval until Jan 08 or until the passport expiration which is Aug 07? I can not even apply for passport renewal because I'm not in six months of the passport expiration. any help is appreciated.

Your pp validity does not come in paly in extention of your H1 however before going for visa stamp your pp must valid atleast one year for stamping.

If one or two months difference you can send your PP for renewal with letter stating your isssues and necessity clearly for renewal before 6 months.
