H1B approved (not stamped) -will wife get H4?

Hi gurus,

I came to US on F1, got a job and got H1b approved. Never went out of US after I got my H1. My wife had to go to India for an emergency, now she needs to get her H4 stamped to get back into US. Her last visa was F2 (student dependent).

My question is will she be able to get her H4 without my H1B being stamped in my passport? She does not have an approved H4.

She asked the TTS services at Delhi but they didn't say anything.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Please help us as we are in a great dilemma.

She does not require approved H4. You can send your H1 approval and ask her to do the H4 visa at delhi consulate.
 
So, if I just give her my I797, she should get her H4 visa?

Do I need to give my original I797 or a certified copy will do?
