Hi all
My 6th year in H1B ends in May 2006. Will I be able to continue staying in US, if I get a student visa for MBA. If so, will I be able to apply for H1B visa after my graduation without taking a 1 year break (exit) from the country.
Your reply is appreciated.
Thanks
Jay

yes you can change to F1, but you can not change back to H1 unless you stay away from the US for a year.

as GotPR said you can convert to student visa but can't get new H1 after a year. you need to stay OUTSIDE US to qualify for another 6 years H1-B.

however you can start PERM process and once I-140 is approved you can go for consular processiong for GC. Until your PD becomes current(many years unless miracle happens with current retrogression) you can continue on F visa in US, if you don't want to leave.
