H1 vs. AP

I applied for my AP along with 485. I have not received my AP so far and I have to travel abroad very soon. Is it ok to travel with H1 (valid for another year) or to take emergency AP. What are the documents required for travelling on H1 (my lawyer said receipt of 485). thanks for help.

I485 receipt copy is enough..

If you have a valid H1 you do not need AP. See INS FAQ on Advance Parole. Do not have to show 485 receipt since it does not matter to the INS officer. Actually it will be good not to attract unnecessary attention by voluntarily showing the 485 receipt.
