My first H1 with company A was valid from Oct 2004-Sep 2007.
I moved to company B(h1 transfer) in May 2005.
Company B laid me off in Dec 2005.
I talked to my old employer, company A after i got laid off by B.
Company A took me back as its employee in Feb2006, the employer told me that he had not revoked my old H1 and that there is no need for filing again with USCIS.
Recently one of my friends told me that I am not supposed to move to my old employer without filing for H1 transfer again.

-Does this mean I have been working illegally with company A
-If so what should i do now, I am very concerned about this, please help

thankyou,

I do NOT think that you will have problem. Since you already have an approved H1B company A you can continue working with them. However, you need to consult an attorney for confirmation. Look into this, it may help you:

8) What if a person holding a H1 for Company 'A', applies for an H1 transfer through Company 'B', and once the transfer is approved, he changes his mind and doesn't join this company 'B'. Can he continue to work for his original company 'A'?

Yes !.(A person can have multiple H1, but can work for only one company at a time.)
