H1 Transfer issues while travelling to india

I am planning to go to India in Nov'2006 end and return in December 3rd week. My question is I have my h1b Transfer pending under new employer and I already started working for new employer. I received my H1b Receipt.
Can I go to India while my H1b Transfer is pending with h1b receipt … Does anyone have any idea what if my H1b gets approved while I m out of country. Hope I wont be out of status. Please let me know if anyone know any info or heard any experiences.

I know or heard that I need not go to stamping in India since I have valid visa with old employer…

Thanks in advance

You should not travel outside US while your H1 transfer is in process. It becomes invalid if you leave US. Also while returning, you'll need an approval copy of new H1 to enter, as you cannot enter on H1 for a employer for which you are not working anymore.
If your visa stamp is still valid for some time then you won't need new visa stamp in pp while rentry, but would need to show the new approval notice.

Poster should upgrade H1 transfer with Premuim processing so that he gets H1 approval before he goes out.
