H1 Transfer from IT to Mechanical

Hi Guys,

Can somebody please clarify my question. I have a PhD in mechanical engneering. I got my H1B approved this October through an IT consulting company A. Now I got a job offer from a mechanical engg company B, job duties very close to my qualifications. If i apply for H1 transfer from Company A to Company B, will there be any problem as I am shifting from IT to mechanical engg field?

Suppose thuron applies for green card through employer B; will his previous experience be considered as progressive experience?
