H1 Transfer:Employer cancelling visa.

Hi friends,
my H1B transfer petition went in on June 29th this year. I have just got the receipt notice.
I'm still with current employer.
I know I can start working for my new employer, but I have an urgent question. My current employer wants me to start a new project, but I am delaying giving him the updated resume because I dont want to start a new project. Now he's getting doubts that I may transfer and is threatening to cancel my H1. If he does the cancellation now after USCIS has recieved my transfer application, am I safe?

------------- yes, as your new employer filed H1 transfer BEFORE the present employer Cancel H1 by writing to USCIS. if you have got H1 transfer filing reciept then you can join new employer now
