H1 transfer - 2 simultaneous petitions

I am on H1 visa with company A. The I-94 is valid till Feb 2005. My prevoius visa stamp (in passport) has expired in Jan 2003 and I am planning to get it revalidated.

I am still working on the payroll of company A.

Company B had applied for H1 transfer - receipt date April 2003. I have never worked with company B.

Now, I want to work with company C and they are planning to file my H1 transfer next week.

Questions:

(1) Is it safe for me to file H1 with company C and start working with them after getting the recipt from INS.

(2) Assuming there is problem/query for H1 of company B, and they do not reply to the queries etc. will it impact negatively on H1 processing of company C. Whats the impact on H1 processing of company C in this scenario.

Assuming that there was a H1 extension involved with company A resulting in the I94 till 2005,

1.Yes (A to C)
2. After applying for Company C, withdraw B's petiton. Since you never joined B, this will not be an issue at all...

One more question - what if company B does not withdraws or refuses to withdraw the H1 petition. Will it complicate the H1 processing for company C ? If yes, please describe briefly.
