H1 stamping after transfer

Hi

My friend came to US in March 2007 on company A's visa.
His passport has company A's visa stamping valid till 2009.

Later he transferred his H1 to company B.
He is planning to make a visit to Canada this weekend.

When he comes back, company A's visa stamping is Ok or does he need to get the company B's stamping???

-----when he enter US at POE he will show valid Visa stamp through A in passport AND H1 Transfer notice of B and will get I-94 till B H1 approval notice
if he enter US through Border then he should ask for new I-94 till H1 Transfer approval notice ( he should keep employer B letter with him and show only if asked)
