H1 revalidation and passport renewal

I have exactly 6 months more for expiry of passport and I have to revalidate H1. can we renew passport which has 6 months validity. any suggestions appreciated.
 
Renew the passport

and then get the revalidation. Saves lot of heartburn in the longer run.
 
Did u send both old and new passports?

Balraj, I am at a similar juncture and would request your feedback. I 'renewed' my passport first and I am ready to send documents for H1 revalidation.
Qn is do you send both old and new passports (attached by ourselves together in some form?) and also highlight to the DOS that there is indeed a similar H1 visa stamping in the old passport since the new passport will be blank, to suit their revalidation criteria?
