H1 petition already approved, will applying for H4 cancel the approved H1 petition?

My H1 petition for year starting 1st Oct 2006 has already been approved. Unfortunately, we have not received it yet. There was a problem due to change in address.

I am applying for H4 now. Will the already approved H1 petition get cancelled/revoked as a result of H4 being done after its approval?

Has anyone been through this? Does anyone know of anyone who has done this?

What is your status at this point of time? and before applying H1.?
If you would have changed the status within US to H1B and it got approved with I94, then you are right now H1 status. If you are going to H4 with this H1 your H1 status is gone, but you can go back to H1 near future without any quota issue.

I have been in India at the time of filing and all this while. So, there is no status. I believe when my employer filed the petition, it wasnt a change of status.
