H1 for a non-profit organization

Hello All,
I am looking into working for an "non-profit organization" and i came to knew that this h1 doesnt come under the normal 65k quota.

I wanted to know if there is any cap/deadlines for this H1 b visa for "non-profit organization".
Is there any seperate set of requirements?

Just being NPO is not enough. It must be an institution which requires high education such as MS and PhD.
Universities for sure, and probably some research labs too.
