H1 extension - 240 days rule

I came to usa on H4 and later changed status to H1 and worked till end of six years. mean while my company applied for labor but not before 365 days, so my companmy applied for H1 extension with recapture of time spent out of usa, meanwhile I got my labor and I140 approved and my company applied for 3 yr extension. following is timeline

- H1 expired 25th may 2006 (six yrs of H1 completed)
- Company applied for 3 months recapture (applied before 25th may 2006)
- applied for 3 yr extension (based on approved I140 ) on 18th Aug 2006

so far none of H1 extension case is approved. on inquiry it was told that its stuck in security check.

Now according to 240 days rule, how long I can work?

upto 25th Jan 2007 or 18th April 2007?

The law says couting of 240 days starts at expiration of admission period which is dictated by I-94.
I believe your 240 days was started in May 2006.
