H1->dependent visa->H1 Help !!

Hi

I am currently on F1 and my wife's on H1. I would be graduating and moving to another state and start working in Dec/Jan on OPT. I'd like to have my wife move with me, and she would like to find a new job and start working as soon as possible. My H1 would only get approved around Oct 08 as I'll start working in January, so what would be the best stratergy for us to take care of my wife's status during the meantime.

The only option I could think of was that she changes her status to F-2 before I graduate and move, would this hamper her chances of getting an H1 for her new job.

We both have a graduate degrees from a US university and she got her H1 last year in the graduate degree quota, can she do that again next year, would she have to wait til Oct to start working, is there anyway of keeping her H-1 visa while moving and searching for a new job (we dont know how long this would take)

Any hints and suggestions would be highly appreciated.

you have plenty of time to find out a job for your wife and get her H1 transfer to new company where you are moving. For few days do not go for F2. Or find a job near to her.

Thanks for the quick reply !!! So she can start working as soon as she finds a new job ? Say we move to NY in Jan and she finds a job in March.

The move is across the country from LA to NY, also she wanted to take a break in between, visit family for a couple of months etc before starting her new job. This is not a restriction but just would be great as she hasn't been able to do that for last few years.
