H1 delayed arrival

Hi Gurus,

A friend of mine recently received an H1 approval with a start date of Oct 1, 2004 and wants to know if it is mandatory to enter the US by that date? Or is it ok to delay arrival by a couple months and enter in Dec 2004/Jan 2005 as long as the petitioning company doesn't have any issues? Would this violate any H1 conditions?

Any and all info is appreciated.

---- That is OK if he has H1 Visa stamp and if the comany does not revoke his H1 petition, he may need new letter of company and show at POE if asked
