My husband is H4
What possibilities we have about his employment?
Do we have to proceed additional documents in our native country?
What is the official procedure when we'd arrive to the airport?
We are newers, so we want to learn more about the process

Hi Dana,

Before anything ensure that you have a stamped visa on your passport for entry into US

1. Persons on H4 visa status are not permitted to take up employment. They can enroll in Universities and community colleges to earn course credits, diplomas etc

2. You need to process additional documents for what - Please specify

3. When you arrive at the airport, submit the Passport that is stamped with your visa to the immigration officer and they will issue a stamped I-94 card valid for the period of H1 and H4 (as the case may be). Most of the time this card is filled out by you on the aircraft before landing and submitted to the immigration officer.

Present your H1B approval notice (Form I-797) also

My husband is H4
What possibilities we have about his employment?
First of all he should get a job offer through a sponser in US which qualifies his H1.

Once he is in US , he can search for job and apply H1 however he can work only Oct 1, 2007 until then he can join some school to upgrade his skills.

Do we have to proceed additional documents in our native country? NO
