H1 approved travelling to India as H4

HI, Need your expert advise. My wife got her H1 approved this october and still looking for a client. However, we need to go to India for a week in January. Can she travel in her H4 stamping (valid till may 2009) and come back? Thank you all.
 
Thanks! Does that mean she has to apply for a new H1 visa for 2009? Will she be under 65000 H1b quota or not?
