H1 approved till 2008, but stamped till 2006 only.

Hi,
My H1 petetion (I797) was approved till 2008. but when I went to stamping, they stamped it only till 2006.
and My fiance got H4 till 2008.

Do I need to file for a New H1 extension after 2006. or, do I need to request a correction?

Please help.

---- it seems to be mistake, your H1 stamp should be till 2008. what is your I-94 exiry date?
and My fiance got H4 till 2008.

----- yes if your I-94 is expiring before 2006, your employer need to file H1 extension BEFORE I-94 gets expired
or,
do I need to request a correction?
--- Correction can only be done from the consulate that stamped Visa sticker, talk to your company lawyer and seek help

I am still in my home country, so, I do not have a I-94 that we get at port of entry. the I-94 that comes with I-797 is valid thru 2008.

I will call my consulate and ask them what to do.
also, I will check with my company attorney.

--- then show the passport visa sticker and approval notice and get it corrected by consulate, point out the mistake. I hope you need to check the passport visa sticker when got it, go to consulate
