H1 residency: do not need to work in underserved area after completing residency
(exception: you are not able to find an employer who will sponsor your GC via labor cert - EB2 advanced degree or exceptional ability. In this case, you can go to an underserved area to practice and SELF sponsor.

If you want to get GC through employer you no need to work in Under served area. You employer has to file a labor certifiction through RIR or Non RIR. RIR is reduction in recruitment (less advertisement more quick approval) If you are in MO state your RIR approval is just 6 months. There is not much diff between NIW and EB2, nowadays NIW takes much more time in some service centers. Thanks

great guru in MO?
