Guys, Pl help -- Employment letter format and cover letter

Guys,
I have to attend inteview in next couple of weeks. Can you pl give me some pointers on the format of employment letter needed from my HR dept. My HR dept does not know much about this so do I. Also, I need to submit a cover letter to the consulate. What should this cover letter state?
Pl, pl let me know. I got only couple of days wherein I need to get employment letter. Can you pl post any emp letters/formats that you may have. Am sure, it would be helpful for all of us attending interviews.

I don't think there is necessarily a standard format for the employment letter. As long as the letter mentions your designation, period of employment(starting date) ,possibly your monthly and a contact phone number of the person signing the letter, I think you should be OK.
I am saying this because big companies generally have their own automated formats for employment verification letters. So the embassy can't expect all letters to be in the same format.
