Gurus do you have to maintain your Visa status after filing AOS as dependent ??

I am on H1 and my spouse has filed for AOS with me as dependent. We have our I485 receipt but are still waiting for EAD. If I quit my job do I have to file for a H4 visa ???
 
No.

Until AOS is adjudicated the status is preserved. But for travel the spouse needs to have AP and can start to work only after EAD approval.
