family. A long wait is finally over providing much relief.

Oh, my god, just now checked the voice message on my case status on AVM of CSC (INS), I heard that this case was approved on June 20, 2002. This morning, I just mailed out a letter to ask for help from Senator Dianne Feinstein. My case was assigned to officer on 05/20/2002.
I didn\'t expect that my I-485 case was approved today.
wowwwwww ...... eventually my long journey to greencard is over after waiting for I-485 approval for 16 months, and I began greencard application since August 1999.
It\'s strange that CSC INS had never updated the voice message on my case status after they received my case until my case was approved today. The voice message was " ..case was received on ..., it will take 975-999 days to ....".

Checked AVM on yesterday (21st) evening heard the case is approved on June 20 for myself, spouse and 2 kids. Waiting for approval letters.
Went on absence of leave since after 180 days. Used EAD(even after lawyer insisted not to use) for part time job. Never called INS.

Mine was AC21 case. I got laid off after 210 days of RD, and luckily got another position on 213th day. Never informed INS about the layoff as my lawyer said its not a good idea.
Well, it looks like an end of a long journey, of about 2 1/2 years including the newspaper ads. before labor application. My wife\'s application is still pending as I recently got married and applied for her I-485. At one point my company was sinking, I was not married, and was scared of applying for I-485 as chances of getting married after GC from India are almost negligible.
I thank almighty God for this kind act and then all of you for being there for all questions/answers.
Thanks to you all, expecially PCee, sonofindia, and milee. I am sure all of you who are waiting will soon get your approvals too.
