GreenCard/Visa

Hi,

I have a question.

how long will it take for my child (9yrs) to get a visa/greencard or whatever so I can take her to the states with me?

(I am US citizen not by marriage or nothing but because of my dad etc. )

My daughter is german citizen. I tried to google about this and asked other people but everyone tells me something else.
I also read that for relatives such as daughter/ son under 21 unmarried will get a green card right away (no waiting list)

I am very confused now lol

My husband (soldier) is leaving soon to go back to the US and I would like to go with him right away. What's the process?

Thx in advance

Is your husband also the father of this child? If so, is your husband a US citizen?
Your father, grandfather to your child, has he lived in the US for more than 5 years physically after turning 14?

No she is not the biological child of my husband. Yes my husband is also a US citizen. Yes my father has lived in the US more than 5 years after the age of 14.

I was informed today to file a I-130 for her and go to JAG to do a expedite to speed up the process.

Another question: They were also talking about some interview she would have to do?! She is 9 yrs lol what can they possibly ask her?!

thx

You actually have two avenues here.

(1) Get your child an immigrant visa through a US consulate. If your local US consulate accepts directly filed I-130, it is much better. Interview will be formality. Once your child enters the US, apply for her US passport.

(2) Take your child to the US on VWP/ESTA. I am assuming she is a German passport holder. Once there, file an N-600K for her. You will need proof of your father's residence in the US.
