i get my greencard today in the mail 10 years before it expires so i want to say thanks to all who help me throughout my rough time in 2006.for more information about my rough time you can always read my thread.thanks again to everyone.

How does it feel to have the greencard in hand? Will your life change drastically after this? Will it stay the same? Will it regress as you settle into complacency?

GC holders are 2nd class, if you are arrested, you might get deported
I Think i'll feel lot better/secure once i get my citizenship

Hi Guys,

After such a long time, today I got my welcome notice. But I am bit confused, we have been married for more than two years ,(we got married in November 2005) and applied in January 2006, but this notice says that "your new card will expire after two years and it will be a conditional and I will have to apply to remove this condition". Why is that and What should I do ?

Thanks for your help and guidance,

-Tariq

Thanks Triple Citizen , I was on H1-B and then filed I-130 and I485 in January 2006.

Thanks,

Have you received your green card yet because i am in the same boat. I got married in June of 2006 and appled in Nov of 2006 but haven't heard of anything yet. I just celebrated my second anneversary. Based on this can i expect a 10 year green card or i will get two year one.

Thanks
Ehsan

Ideally and legally you should expect 10 years one.I received my Green card last month ,I spoke to my Lawyer and he told me that all we have to do is to file I-90 form and pick the option "Administrative error" and send a copy of the marriage certificate and a note explaining the situation and we are not supposed to pay any fee.Hope this helps.
