Today, I accompanied with my parents to the immigration office in San Francisco for green card interview. I am the petitioner and my parents do not speak English at all. The officier verified address and names on the form and some questions on the I-485 application form. I did the interpreter for my parents. I showed her all the original copies of my parents birth certificates, my birth certificates and my financial support documents. At the end of the interview, she took my parents I-94 cards but did not say that my parents green cards are approved or not. But she said that she need to review the papers and does another round of background check, etc.
I am kind of concerned. Is it because that I am the interpreter for my parents. After interview, I browsed the forum and found that people suggest to bring a friend as impartial interpreter. I am the petitioner for my parents also. Can anyone let me know what I should do?
thanks!
