Hi all,
My wife and I are planning to go India for her delivery. We are green card holders and our citizenship application (N-400) is in the process as well. What is the procedure to bring baby to the US after delivery? What visa will the baby need?
Note: as per the processing time, our N-400 will not be processed before the delivery so the baby will not be considered as "born to USA citizens" Any suggestion will be a great help

cant you just wait? , have the baby in usa, get the passport, then go to india.
I dont know the procedure but I do know that the baby if born outside have to be in usa before age 2.

To gain instant permanent resident status at the port of entry, the baby must be brought to the US before 2 years old, and with the accompanying parent's first trip to the US since the birth. Normally the accompanying parent would be the mother, but if the father was abroad at the time of birth the father can bring the baby and the baby would still be eligible for instant permanent resident status.

At the POE, bring 2 passport-style pictures of the baby, and the baby's birth certificate in addition to the baby's own passport.

I am a legal permanent resident of the U.S. While I was outside the U.S., I gave birth to a child. Now I wish to return to the U.S. May I take my child with me?
As outlined in 9 FAM 42.1 N1.1, a child under two years of age who was born of a Permanent Resident Alien mother during a temporary visit abroad does not require an immigrant visa in order to travel to the United States if the alien parent is in possession of a valid Form I-551 (i.e. green card), a valid reentry permit, or an SB-1 visa. The child must be admitted to the U.S. within two years of birth and the accompanying parent must be applying for readmission upon first return after the birth of the child. We suggest that the accompanying parent carry documentary evidence of his or her relationship to the child, including the child's passport and birth certificate.

The baby might not be healthy enough to travel back to the US for months, and if one or both of you have to spend those months in India taking care of the baby it could jeopardize your naturalization.

I have approved GC and waiting for the card, my husband has green card and I have my baby's delivery in india.

The answers Iam looking for are.
1. is it impossible to bring the baby back.
