I filed I-130 and I-485 for my parents back in Sept. 2008.

In Feb 2009 my mother's I-130 and I-485 approved and in about 1 week, she got her green card in the mail.

Today, I got I-130 approval letter for my father and a transfer notice saying his I-485 was transfered to local office and told us to wait for interview. Also wired that there is no update in the system at all.

Is it normal for parents to get interviewed? I read this forum and I did not see any other partents get interviewed.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Anyone would share the experience for interview too?

Thanks a lot.

Is your father still married to your mother? If not, that's one reason they'll interview him. Or if he is your stepfather, not your biological father.

Is there any other difference between them ... did they enter the US at different times? Does your father have a history of visa overstay while your mother doesn't? Anything else you can think of?

It is rare for a parent to be invited for an AOS interview but there is no need to panic. Just make sure he is there will all the neccessary documents and see what happens. Good luck!!!

Please, anyone' parents got any interview experience? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.

It is my blood father and they are married for 40 years - still married. There is no difference for document at my point of view. I do not understand it either. I guess I have to wait for the local office to schedule the interview and see what will happen.

Thanks again. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
