Got married on TN Visa, what's next?

I am Canadian and I just got married to a USC last week. I am here on a TN Visa, but I am no longer working (lost my job a year ago)... Where should I start to regularize my status?

Thank you

File for adjustment of status.

That is what I was planning to do, but since I am here on a TN that is no longer valid (lost my job a year ago) I am concern of getting in trouble.
Can I get in trouble because of that delay for filling I 495 (Adjustment of status) so late?
But I guess this is the only way right?
Just want to know what to expect...

Thanks

You're married to a US citizen, so they'll forgive the overstay. Just don't leave the US before the green card is in your hand, or the overstay may prevent you from returning.

I was thinking of getting a lawyer for this. Do you know how much can I expected to pay if a lawyer gets involved?
Is involving a lawyer makes the time frame shorter for the whole process? And could I do it without a lawyer?

Thank you
