Reached around 5:00 am and got out around 9:00 am. No questions asked about I-140 status.

They asked me for a copy of EAD application, my lawyer din't give me that and neither he asked me to take it with me. INS officers asked me to fill another one. I had a student optional training EAD two years back (already expired now). I had to fill this info in the EAD application. The INS officer asked for the old EAD card, attached it to the applictaion and approved it for 8 months.

The only concern is that he took the original old EAD card (and i don't even have a copy of it) and later when i asked information desk about it, i was told that it was INS property and they will not return it.

I now have no proof of my old EAD card. Do you guys think that would be ever needed ? What can i do about it ?

I got my iEAD at san jose yesterday. I lost my EAD from my MS long time back but I do have a copy of it. I said the same thing to that guy when I went for iEAD. He never even bothered to look at it and said it is fine and I dont even have to attach it with my application.

Thanks guys ! My lawyer had a copy of my old EAD. So even though i don't have the original card, i atleast have a copy now.

Yup, we should all make copies of all INS documents

EAD from F-1 OPT/PT are taken by INS for whatever work you go so take copies of all the EADs.

They took my EAD when I went for H-1 Stamping in Canada in June 2001 and was told te same. INS property ....
