I sent i-589 applicaition on 7/12. Then got the fingerprint letter on 7/16. We took fingerprint on 7/25. Now if I check the case status on USCIS website with the receipt number which was given in the FP letter, it told me that the number cannot be found. Is there any problem?

Thanks.

Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283.

If so,it's because your case has not yet been decided

Also ,don't worry because if USCIS gave the number there is no reason why it must have a problem

The website returned me exactly as you said.

I was worried because I saw following words in the asylum process instruction on the website. So far I only got the FP letter but have not got the acknowledgment of receipt of my application.

Once USCIS has received the completed application, you will receive two notices:

1. Acknowledgment of receipt of your application

2. Notice to visit your nearest Application Support Center (ASC) for fingerprinting

Not all applications are in systems that can interface with case status online. This is one of them. It is not something that you can do anything about.

Asylum applicants will not be able to check the status of their application on USCIS website, and it is because they don't have a bridge with USCIS to post the steps on asylum application process. The only time you can see the status change is when you get your application approved and your Asylum office requests an automatic EAD A5 category thru USCIS.

Don't panic if you can't see status change it is normal to everyone.
