My wife got a job with USCIS thru a top (Big 5) consulting firm, but Oath is pending from last 60 days and the requirement is US Citizen. Can we submit the Offer letter and will that help to expedite the case? We already took an infopass but that wasn't of much use. The lawyers and USCIS 2nd level officer also said the same that we have to wait at least 90 days. The offer was made today itself and we are still optimistic that we should get it soon. We have told them that Citizenship is in process.

Any issues in the interview that might have caused the "decision cannot yet be made"? Like an arrest or missing documents?

Hi gcdetails

Congratulations. Good to make an entry into USCIS and probably your wife's personal experience at the agency will help knowing the inside procedures more thoroughly.

Suggest get an INFOPASS and personally explain. Hopefully it will greatly help instead of talking on phone.

Thanks

How did you apply for job in USCIS ? Which agency are doing job placements for USCIS, could you please share ?

The OP mentioned it was a position through a contract company. Considering that it requires US citizenship, the offer is likely contigent on verifying the applicant's background.

Just wanted to know BIG 5 names..............so that one can apply 4 federal jobs. His wife must be knowing what contract company she got an offer.....if they would not mind to share it here......right ?
Just trying to know since it will help to search for federal jobs.

Try it, you have nothing to lose... It may work.

My sincere thanks for the responses. My wife was working for Federal Govt for a long time, but the requirement wasn't citizenship so far, this is a new opportunity for her and the previous one ended. We took an infopass for 2nd March, will keep everyone posted for this.
Her case is straightforward, mine has a name change, so I can understand that the Oath has to be in a federal court and can cause a delay, she never even got a speeding ticket and no name change and nothing that I can think of.
One of the lawyers told me that it might be cuz they are trying to do Oath on the same day, but the 2nd level officer suggested thats not the case and they handle all cases separately. We will keep our fingers crossed.

Although this job requires US citizenship, they allowed her to apply as a noncitizen based on having a pending citizenship application?

Will they withdraw the job offer if she doesn't get citizenship by a certain date?

It could depend...i thought that USC is prequalifying condition. There are jobs which state post offer proof of USC is required...grace period is a good question...As a general, USC need to be secured before start date. may depend on employer's flexiblity with the start date....

We are so far assuming that they might put her on some other project if she doesn't get the Citizenship by then, but this is a long-term position. We can just pray and wait cuz getting job in this economy and then losing will be painful :(
I will try with Senators etc if it didn't workout by 120 days after interview which is 22nd April.

Going for Infopass 90 days after interview date, any tips/advise? Anyone has some better experience on what to request. My DO (Baltimore) has Oath on a daily basis after 3. I called and spoke with 2nd level officer, they only say that they are doing additional review on this case, once they said alien file is missing.

If the A-file is truly missing, INFOPASS is not going to tell you much different story. Only thing you may gain is independent confirmation of this fact. You can search what happens on a missing A-file on this forum, but ask them the same - what will happen if they can not find it? Is it in some other DO? Where is it? Is it already in transit? When is it expecte? And so on...

I had an infopass today (90 days after interview) and I tried my level best to find out the reason for delay but they just mentioned that they are doing additional review and I should wait for at least 120 days. Any advise/tips?
