Ginnu, really am confused... H1B extention questions

My H1B is expiring at the end of November 04. I am finishing my 5th year and I need an extention to be able to work. Now I have heard that I cannot file for an extention because it has to be 6 months prior to the six year ending. I am uterly confused and now quite worried. Could you please advise? I would really appreciate it.

----- if your LC is pending more than 365 days or I-140 or I-485 is pending you can file 7th year H1 extension BEFORE your I-94 expire or can file 6 months advance of I-94 expiry date and you need to be Eligible for 7th year. I dont know on what base you want to file 7th year H1. if you are eligible your extension should be filed BEFORE your I-94 gets expired,.
