Getting visitor's visa after participating in the DV lottery 2011

My girlfriend has a 2-year visitor visa to the U.S which will expire in 1.5 years. I only have a green card.
Suppose she participates in the DV lottery 2011 and does not win. I think just the fact of participation in the lottery might be a proof that she, in general, has an intention to get to the U.S and stay. Do you think it will be difficult to get a new visitor visa in the future?

if she does not there will never be any case whatsoever because the lottery is open to all whether in or outside the states except those not elegible. There will only be a case when she wins.Mere entering for the dv lottery does not affect any visa of any kind except when that person wins that he/she stand the risk of loosing his/her current status.

Winning does not make one loose his/her status. It's when the winner forward the forms (DS and DSP) back to KCC that's where the winner has shown the intention to migrate. It also depends on the type of visa the winner have.

Absolutely true...entering is meaning nothing....going to apply for the GC after winning is showing intend.

thanks that was what i meant but maybe my post was really not detailed and elaborate.thanks

By the way I forgot to tell that she lives outside the U.S.

My lawyer also told me that applying for the green card lottery by itself will not constitute of immigrant intent. But then I found this w_w_w.dvlottery.org/faq.php#5

By applying for the Diversity Visa Lottery Program, will this affect any other visa applications?
Normally not, since this is a separate application process, although if you are applying for a another type of visa at the American embassy/consulate in your country, you might be asked if you have also applied for the Green Card Lottery.

I wonder whether these people were denied their visas. Or were they just asked and it meant nothing?
