Hello All-
I am a native of South Africa, went to high school, college, graduate school and have worked in the U.S. about 5 years. I am getting married soon to a US citizen. She is white. We are filing for a spouse based green card for me. How long is the process in the New England area (Boston).
I have a very good job (currently on H1B set to expire in 2 years)
have always been employed and in good immigration status. I heard from someone that people who are marrying different ethnicity (Black-White)
may need to show more evidence of marriage legitimacy than others.
Is this true? What information do we need to collect to be on the safe
side? Has anyone been in a situation like mine and can you share your experiences?
I also posted a question about a criminal dismissal (driving on a suspeded license because I had forgotten to pay a ticket) earlier. The case was dismissed once they found out that the fine had been paid. Does this also need to be disclosed and can it pose a problem.
Sorry about all the questions, just a bit nervous about the whole thing.
Thanks much
