Getting marred in the middle of November

Hello,

I have the following situation: me and my bride are getting marred in the middle of November. Are we eligible to apply for the 2014 DV Program as the family (i.e. can I include her as my wife) ?

Thank you very much !

Regards
B.

Not a good idea to claim to be married, when single while applying. The date on your marriage certificate will show you were not married when you entered for the lottery. If you end up being selected in May 2013, you will have the opportunity of including your wife on your application at that stage.

Agree, you must state exactly your marital status or otherwise AT THE TIME of entry. I have read a previous post where someone put married when they were not yet, thinking it would go ahead without a hitch, but at the time of interview this was not the case and they were still single and questions were raised.

It is an easy enough process to add your new wife after you win.

They are sticklers for correct information and complete honesty.

All the best!

:)

Yes Sm1smom is right.
At the date you apply for the DV lottery you are not married yet.
Today she's only you fiancée, not your wife. You need to apply as single. Then if later you are selected you can add easily your wife and even newborn kid.
