Hi all. I'm not sure where to post this question... sorry if it doesn't entirely fit in this category. My question isn't technical in nature. I'm looking for just some general advice.
I mailed in my I-140 and I-485 concurrently on July 1 and am now expecting the I-485 to reject, but the I-140 to process. Unfortunately I've been becoming more and more unhappy/depressed about working for my current employer and living in the midwest. I have thought about moving out west again as I think that will make me much happier. And since I feel quite underpaid by my current employer, I'm quite confident that I will be able to get a sizeable raise on my next job, which would offset some of the lawyer fees I've already sunken in so far.
But my Labor Certification has already been approved. Would it be risky/stupid to change job and restart the entire process again? My date in line is only April 2007, and I'm in the category EB-3. If my date doesn't become current in the October bulletin, then I feel like it could be years until it does, and just the thought of that is making me incredibly depressed.
Has anyone had this dilemma before? Has anyone had to cope with this agonizing wait while feeling dissatisfied at their current employer? I really need some direction. I have 2.5 years left on my H1-B - I feel like I leave now or never.
Thanks all.
