GC Travel after leaving Job

I will be resigning from my current job and then leave for India for two weeks, I will join my new job after I come back. So, I was wondering if that is a problem, since I will not have a job at that time.
Thanks

Beacuse the GC might be employment-based and the OP said he is leaving his/her job (from where he/she probably got his/her GC).

I know that the stated travel is not a problem, but the question is valid.

It shouldnt be a problem, I think. If GC is through EB and OP is leaving his/her job I dont think POE official will be concerned. If there should be a problem with regard to violating GC process then it will be at the Naturalization time.

But just for leaving and coming back it shouldnt be a problem. Again this is based on what I have read and my understanding of the process.....

I realize that, and also said that in my initial reply to the OP. I was just speculating on what might have led the OP to ask that question, since you had asked ".... Why would it be?".

When I traveled for the first time post-GC, the officer at the POE asked who I work for. Don't know why he asked, or what would have happened if I said somebody other than the sponsor. Maybe he just wanted to check if it was a stolen card (a thief probably wouldn't know my employer).

For the OP ... if asked where you work, say you used to work for X but you recently accepted an offer to work for Y.

On returning from one of my intl trips I was asked who my sponsor was and if I still worked for it. I wasn't working for the sponsor at that time and there was no problem.

Returning on GC is not the same as that for non-immigrant visa's like B1, H1, F1 etc. You can get rejected at PoE for valid non-immigrant visa's; but not for valid immigrant visa's.

I don't think it matters for them at the point of entry who you work for if you enter with GC. They might just ask random questions to see if you respond "suspiciously". In fact the only valid question I see is "for how long you where away?" All the rest is just chatting trying to see if you are really the person in the card. - Nick
