GC thru previous employer

Hi Gurus
My labor thru the old employer got approved last wk, the priority date is also current for that. My old employer is ready to continue my GC (he's giving me some chase though.. not sure what he is up to).

Question is: Am I obliged (by law) to join him if I get the GC thru him? If so at what stage?

--Yes, because you intend to work with him by filing I-485 based on that employer LC and I-140. if I-485 pending more than 180 days you can invoke AC21 (FYI at this time USCIS is approving I-485 less than 180 days) read AC21 Memo
If so at what stage?
------any time OR after I-485 approval

I'm not so keen on working for him but oh well.. I'm keen on getting the GC..
I'll worry about that later
