Hi,
My wife is out of the country and she is currently going thru medical treatment back home and will be coming back to the US only after 6 months after her date of departure. We both got our physical GCs' a month back. Will she face any problems while coming back at port of entry ?!!

Thanks.

---------no

Just a "NO" is a misleading answer. Please be careful when replying.

Now to the original post:

If < 6 months, it is ok.
If > 6 months and < 1 year, be ready to face tough questions. Having a doctor's letter and/or a medical certificate will help.
If > 1 year, a re-entry permit is required.

Good Luck!

Yes, it's better to keep some proof of medical condition/treatments. In addtion, she is going to break her continuous residency if she is out of USA more than 6 months.
