This is a US citizen parent case.

485/765/131 sent 8/1.
RD 8/4
ND 8/6
No FP notice ever received
Called USCIS cst svc several time to schedule appt, but in vain
Walk-in FP at San Antonio ASC 10/2 -- no problem to get through
FP LUD 10/12
Interview 10/14 -- very professional and courteous
Approved at the interview, passport stamped
GC rec'd 10/21.

The San Antonio office has to be the best in the country. And I agree with another poster that it is better than DORA in Dallas. The only (very minor) drawback: we had to pay for the AP and EAD upfornt, and they *did not act* on these two applications until the AOS interview. They only process the 131 and 765 if they cannot approve the AOS at the interview (mostly due to FP/namecheck delays). Now, they will have to send a denial on the 765 and 131. Not a big problem, however. I am most pleased and impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the San Antonio office.

Gracias a todos!

What is FP LUD?

Gringo,

What do u mean by we have to pay for AP and EAD upfront?Don't we pay when we send them with applications?.Thank you and Congratulations

The FP LUD is a message on USCIS' automated system that says something like "results of FP received and case processing resumed." That's how you know that the FP results are in the USCIS system.

Paying for 131 and 765 upfront means that when we filed 485/131/765 we initially had to pay processing fees for all three forms. We were expecting to receive AP/EAD within about 45 days (Based on the MSC processing time), but instead found out that the 131 and 765 were not at MSC, but rather on the officer's desk in San Antonio, and will only be processed AFTER the AOS interview (because they schedule the interview so fast). So now that the 485 has been approved, the 131 and 765 will be sent to MSC and this will probably result in a techincal "denial" since they are not needed. Had the 485 not been approved at the interview (for reasons such as name check), MSC would have approved the 131/765.

Hope that helps.

Gringo,Thanks for your reply. You think it is better to do walk-ins for FP's rather then wait for letter, becos I work in Philadelphia but my DO is San antonio so it would be like travelling just to check my luck eith FP's.Thank you

I recommend you make an INFOPASS appt, go to SAT and ask the Imm officer at the DO to allow you to go to the ASC next door and get the FP taken the same day. It takes 7-14 days for FP results to show up on USCIS system, so try to make sure your appt is at least 14-21 days before AOS interview.

Buena Suerte!
