Hi All:

Any advice would be appreciated on the following situation.

I am GC holder for the last 15 months. I intend to marry someone on a multiple entry (10 year) tourist visa (currently in the US). What are the implications of that? Is there a legal way for her to stay back in the US once we're married and outlive the 6 months that she's allowed to stay in the US for, on a tourist visa.

I am aware of a 5 year or so wait for spouses of green card holders before they get a green card and want to avoid that.

Thanks.

There is nothing that a GC holder can do. That person have to maintain his/her own status. This situation has been discussed many times in this forum. Search through this forum.

She can not stay longer than B visa allows. Problem is if immigration officer at POE comes to know she is married to GC holder and visiting him, they may not allow her to enter the US due to immigration intent issue.
